Is It Time?

Signs your blade needs sharpening

A dull blade works harder, cuts rougher, and is more dangerous. If you notice any of these, your blade is overdue.

Rough, splintered cuts

Tear-out, fuzzy edges, or chipping where the blade used to leave a clean, glass-smooth surface.

Burn marks on the wood

Scorching or smoke means the blade is rubbing instead of slicing, overheating your stock and the carbide.

More feed pressure

You're pushing harder to get the same cut. A sharp blade should pull through the work with light pressure.

Grinding noise or vibration

Extra noise, chatter, or vibration in the cut points to worn teeth and a blade that's no longer running true.

Chipped or rounded teeth

Hold the blade to the light. Reflective, rounded, or chipped tips mean the cutting edges are gone.

The motor bogs down

If your saw labors or slows in cuts it used to handle easily, the blade is making the motor do the work.

10–20 hrs

As a rule of thumb, carbide-tipped blades should be sharpened every 10–20 hours of use — sooner if you're seeing any of the signs above. Regular sharpening protects the carbide and extends the blade's life.

Built On Precision

Factory-sharp edges, measured to the thousandth

Every blade is restored on CNC grinders and held to specs most sharpeners never measure — then cleaned, coated, and inspected before it ships back.

  • .002" tolerance, every tooth

95% of teeth held within .002", with no two teeth more than .004" apart in height.

  • 4-point quality inspection

Ultrasonic cleaning, precision grind, height inspection, and a protective wax coat — on every order.

  • 40+ years on the floor

Three generations of sharpening experience. We can re-tip worn blades instead of replacing them outright.

Smart Value

Sharpen vs. buy new

A quality carbide blade is built to be re-sharpened many times. Replacing it every time it dulls is the expensive way to work.

$500+
Saved over a blade's life

Quality carbide-tipped blades can be sharpened 5–8 times before they need re-tipping — each time restoring a like-new edge for a fraction of replacement cost.

Example: a $120 premium blade sharpened at ~$22 a time, 5–8 times, keeps cutting like new for well over $500 less than buying replacements.

Questions & Answers

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about mailing in your blades. Still stuck? Give us a call.

Most blades are processed within 4-5 business days of arrival. You'll receive email confirmation when your blades arrive and tracking information when they ship back.

We sharpen most carbide-tipped saw blades, router bits, drill bits, and many other cutting tools. We do NOT sharpen hand saws, double edge planers, diamond tipped blades, or stump grinder teeth.

Quality carbide-tipped blades can typically be sharpened 5-8 times before needing tip replacement. This depends on the original blade quality, how dull it was when sharpened, and how it's used after sharpening.

We offer tip replacement services. Retipping costs $5.75 per tooth, and complete retip costs $9.78 per tooth. We'll inspect your blades and contact you if tip work is needed before proceeding.

Every blade goes through our 4-point inspection process. We maintain .002" tolerance with 95% of teeth, and no two teeth can be more than .004" apart in height. Each blade is also visually inspected for any defects.

Our service includes ultrasonic cleaning, precision CNC grinding, quality inspection, protective wax coating, and secure packaging for return shipping. Your blade is laser etched with your name for tracking.

Yes, rush service is available for an additional $25 fee. Contact us to discuss your timeline and we'll do our best to accommodate urgent needs.

We accept credit cards, checks, and can call you for payment information. Payment is processed after your blades are sharpened and ready to ship back to you.

We'll send you a shipping label and instructions. If you have original blade boxes or cases, please use them. Otherwise, secure blades between cardboard and bubble wrap to prevent damage during transit.

Our free shipping applies to the lower 48 states only. For Alaska and Hawaii customers, please contact us for shipping arrangements and costs.

We run six dedicated CNC sharpening machines that grind the tooth face, top, and side geometry back to factory specification, then check runout on precision inspection stations. It's the same class of equipment used on factory production lines, which is how blades come back cutting at or very close to new.

Yes. Premium blades from brands like Forrest, Freud, Amana, and CMT depend on precise hook and grind angles, and our CNC equipment holds those angles to a .002" tolerance. We service every major carbide-tipped brand.

Almost always. A quality carbide blade can be sharpened 5-8 times before it needs re-tipping. At roughly $19-25 per sharpening versus $80-150 for a new blade, you save hundreds of dollars over the blade's life while keeping the same cut quality.

Yes. We replace individual carbide tips rather than scrapping the blade. Re-tipping is $5.75 per tooth, or $9.78 per tooth for a complete re-tip. We inspect every blade and contact you before doing any tip work.
